Short of paying a membership fee over at a certain forum, how does one find a good deal for a HDTV?

Is there a resource that bench marks average prices, etc?

Most "hot deal" forums have posts about TVs. If you know what TV you want, that will make it much easier.

Many of the forum sponsors over at a certain forum offer outstanding prices.

An example... the new Pioneer plasma 5010FD sets MSRP for $5,000 and aren't even out yet. One said forum sponsor is offering preorders for $3400 SHIPPED.
