Hey guys,

I know I should be posting this over in the Howard forums but there's been issues with the forums all day and I need a response asap. That said, I am planning on switching over to the 5000 anytime plan at tmobile for 130/month but don't have a clue as to what the wireless features offer. I see tzone, tzone pro, wireless, hotspots ...etc etc. I just need to be able to access email on my laptop while away from a connection. Which of those offer's that ability.

In addition, over at Howards, they mention something about free GPRS or WAP...what's that all about?

Anyone?

tia,

Kevin

all tmo plans have free wap. Some ports are blocked. You cannot hook up the cell with the laptop with the free wap (there is a workaround by setting up your own server and forwarding from there. Kind of a hassle). To be able to to use the laptop you need the 19.99 plan. With the free one you can access different websites using your phone. This is what I remember on top of my head. You can always call Tmo to make sure :)

tmo has Free Wap for everyone, no matter what plan you are on. the WAP is via GPRS. I am not sure if you are able to access to your email. but probably not.
because the free wap is ONLY open on port 80. if you want every port open for you, pay $20.

I just went through the plans and I didn't see the $20 option. Is that under Internet Plans?

I basically added the 130 plan to my cart. I then added a V300 to my cart. I didn't see anything for 20 bucks other than the T Mobile Hot Zone. By the way what does the tzone offer then?

There is no "internet plan" for 20. In fact, the only plan for 20 is a basic voice plan that gives you 60 whenever minutes and 500 weekend minutes. If you already have a voice plan, you can add t-zones for 5. Unless you need access to an exchange server, t-zones is all you'll ever need.

Now, if you have a Blackberry or a Sidekick, that's a whole nother story.
