T-mobile SIM cards

I know phone contacts and other data are kept on it, but is each SIM card associated with a phone number? I've heard you can switch a sim card between phones and have them function equally. What happens if you lose your SIM card, or want to change the phone number on one?

Yes ur phone number/account number is stored on the SIM... you can plug your SIM into another phone and you would keep the same number... if you lost ur SIM, u will have to get another one and have them transfer the account

most newer phones store contact numbers in internal memory, with the option to back them up to the sim card. the sim has a capacity of only 250 numbers though. it also has some room for SMSs
