T-Mobile question...Contract Cancellation

I am a T-Mobile customer and have recently moved to a new apartment. Right now my only phone is my wireless phone. I do not have a landline. My reception at my apmt is terrible and frequently drops the call or produces alot of noise. I would like to cancel and go with another provider who will also bundle their wireless together with a landline for a very good price. I still have several months left on my contract with T-Mobile. Do any of you know if they might waive the cancellation fee due to the poor reception at my apartment? I really don't want to pay a hefty cancellation fee.

what makes you think another provider will get service in your house. At my house no cell phones ever work regardless of provider.

If its within the first thirty days of your contract there isnt a fee other than that, they tend to be pretty strict on their cancellation policy. Why not try and antenna booster first?

That?s your house. My sister and her husband DONT have a land line they just each have a cell phone. They have Cingular I believe. in ST Louis. Works fine in their home

Well, I would be able to get a landline and a wireless service for about what my tmobile service now costs. So even if the wireless service didn't get good reception I could still use the landline.

it's quite possible another will.. verizon is the only one that provides a good signal to my house.. alltel, sprint and cingular get enough signal to ring most of the time, but you have to go outside to talk.

I don't know if lack of signal to your house is a valid reason for cancelling a contract (without fees), though.

They aren't going to let you out of the contract because you can't get reception at your house.

Either pay the contract cancellation fee or ask them about getting a different phone.

antenna booster? they dont dont work. but if you must get one there pennies on ebay.

i bought one two years ago it did make a 1-2 bar difference in low reception areas.

yea, i tried cancelling my service from tmobile once too (for the same reasons) and they said i had to pay the cancellation fee as well. so i just changed my plan to the cheapest one for the last 2 or 3months and then cancelled it. it saved a few bucks. now i use sprint which works a lot better in my area.
