I Recently checked my T-Mobile Minutes usage for the month by hitting #646#
I have 600 anytime anywhere minutes and free nights and weekends. I checked my phone last week and it was around 620minutes and 400 nights and weekends.
I checked today and it say 650anytime minutes 500 nights and weekends and 174 additional minutes!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

Theres no way in hell i used 174 additional minutes in the last week. What does this mean??? Why does the anytime minutes increase to 650 then additional minutes be added to the message too. Help

#646# is not always up to date, it's accurate only as of the time stamp included in the message.

It is NOT necessarily accurate when you check it, it usually runs a few hours behind.

If you're concerned about your usage, log into My T-Mobile & check your calls.

Also, have you changed rate plans recently? #646# doesn't reset itself when you change rate plans, even though your bucket usage does reset. It will be accurate again on the first day of your next billing cycle.

FYI, I used to work for T-Mobile & I NEVER saw inaccurate minute billing. Check your call history.

Call them if you have any questions.

lol...tmobile has never messed up on minute usage, and i have been with them since voicestream. looks like you need to keep track of your mins and not rely on #646#.

the #646# might be real time but it is accurate. looks like they cut you some slack on the 50 extra minutes over 600, but the 174 they'll have to charge you

why not call t-mob CS?

When I was working there, I saw plenty of them. I remember having to do re-rates because customers were supposed to have their plans changed and the system didn't change them for whatever reason. I remember having to do them because someone was making a call at the southern tip of Texas and their phone registered on the Mexican network (forget the name) and they were charged for international roaming. I've also seen the same for places like upstate NY, near the Canadian boarder, etc. Sometimes I've seen things where the system logs something like 10 calls in 5 minutes and lists each call as 25 or 40 minutes or some other logical impossibility or some crap like that.

It's rare, but it happens.

The best thing you can do is CALL CUSTOMER CARE. Anandtech cannot change your bill; just do something productive and call customer care and explain the situation to them. They'll be able to go over your call record and verify that you do or do not deserve the bill you got.

is the 174 additional minutes mobile to mobile ?

do you ahve free mobile to mobile ?

Could be mob-2-mob, yeah. Could be international. Could be long distance if he's on a plan that doesn't have long distance (there's only one of those). Could be bonus minutes, if CC has ever given him any.

for me, when i had additional minutes, it was when i made calls from out of country...but i only had 9 😕
