Firstly let me just tell you of a guy at work who has been rewarded with a second phone and account by t-mobile to supplement his first. He did not ask for it and is wrestling with them to try and get them to take it back.

Now, let me tell you of a $138.86 charge I found on my credit card a few days ago by T-mobile. I called them up and they said they knew nothing of it. I called MBNA and had the charge disputed, my number cancelled, and new cards sent to me. I got a bill in the mail yesterday for $47.94 for my t-mobile service. I pay online. I click "pay now". Guess how much they want to charge me? -$90.92 Can you imagine what 138.86 - 47.94 = ? That's right. So, they charged me that $138.86 for no good reason. I must emphasize the fact that _I am not setup for automatic billing_. I do one-time payments each month. So, they auto-charged me (without permission), AND overcharged by almost 3 times AND when I called them they were unable to track down this charge at all, which meant I had to cancel my card.

Morons.

They're like dealing with children. It's already under dispute with my credit card company. I changed the -90.92 in the box to 47.94 and paid as if this didn't happen. My account thusly is carrying a positive balance of 138.86, which t-mobile will have to pay back to MBNA once the dispute goes through. I've always used one-time use numbers with t-mobile but I had a 12 month expiry on the one I was using with a high limit, and unfortunately now due to their proven stupidity I will have to make a new number with a $50 limit each and every time so that they can't play these games again.

give credit where credit is due, if they have treated you well, then congrats.

it still pisses me off to all the negative responses i received in my verizon wireless thread when i was just trying to express how good their service had been.

I've had the same experience. However I have had a few bad experiences:

1) I returned a broken phone covered under their warranty, it should have been a FREE exchange. 10 months later they charged me $70. I wrote a scathing nasty letter, sent it to their "executive resolution" team, 2 months later they credited the $70 back to my credit card. I basically demanded that they explain WHY it took them 10 months to inform me the phone was not covered under warranty. I was never given an explanation as to WHY it wasn't covered. Lastly of course I asked them to PROVE with pictures what's wrong with the phone. So 2 months later I get a $70 credit to my cc and a very boring 1 paragraph "we've fixed this error, please accept our apologies" letter from them.

2) Originally my sister got a cell phone with my credit which was fine with me. 1.5 years ago she applied to switch it to her name only (change of ownership as they called it). She was APPROVED but they never changed it.

Other than those 2 blemishes T-Mobile's service has been an awesome value. Their Family Time plan is great.

I do what Skoorb does but how can they charge his cc if he's not signed up for autopay?

Every month around the 27th (payment due date) I logon to t-mobile.com select pay one time with a credit card, pay it then print out a receipt.

It's always worked great and I earn frequent flier miles from my cc and the right to DISPUTE the charge if need be.

I just finished my first month with Tmobile, and it's been great, except one thing. I can't seem to find a bill. Evidently the first billing period ended on the 6th, but online it just shows my new activity and says "there is no billed activity." Are they giving me a free month here?:)

Considering how brain-dead simple cellphone service has to be those two errors to me seem significant. It's a shame that we've come to expect gross freaking incompetence from those we pay to work for us, and in cases where something doesn't go wrong it's considered "excellent service", because in a sea of stupidity, not doing something wrong makes one shine. Grr.

They shouldn't have charged my CC, but I use the same "one-time" number with them. I just had the expiration and dollar amounts high so that I could keep using it. I won't do that again! I sent them a nasty email (which they'll probably not read).

No, you'll get one. Their website and billing are just slow (and useless). Don't worry, they'll bill you soon.
