I think TMobile is ok in Austin. My friend had it, and I never heard him complain. You probably won't get service in buildings and stuff, but that's typical. Anyway, it can't be any worst than sprint :|

I heard T Mobile is using Cingular network which is not good. But they have many cool phones, though
