T-Mobile Down in NYC??

NakaNaka

The three people I know with T-Mobile in NYC, all of a sudden, their service just went splat. For over 15 mins, when someone tries to call them busy signals. All in different parts of Manhattan. Weird. Any news?

Tmobile sucks.. My brother and I were separated right before the NY blackout (we both had different flights) and Tmobile didn't work. I used my phone and manually tried to connect to other networks (AT&T, Cingular) and when I did, it wouldn't allow outgoing calls. Since we both had Tmobile, we had no way of finding out where we were.. so we saw each other three days later in Bradenton, FL.

Ya, it was a blackout.. but Tmobile had no service for the next two days. Though, for a while, it would say 'Emergency calls only' when I tried to dial out. People with other cell phone services were yapping away all night on their phones.

Fvck Tmobile.

FWIW, Verizon didn't work either. It did come back on the next day.

Verizon is definitely well worth the money.... who cares if you have a gazillion minutes if you can't use them... same goes for rollover

Verizon > *

They picked up the Treo 600 support after 8 months of Sprint having it. That sucked. 😉 But better late than never.

A phone is a phone is a phone.

Verizon has plenty of decent options. I care more about my phone working than the latest camera or mp3 features it has.

Honestly, who gives a fvck what works in a blackout. How often do the damn things happen? Geesh. Some people are WAY too caught up in what-ifs and bullsh!t.

I think his point is that it's silly to evaluate a phone company's merits based solely on such a random occurance.

Yes, thank you. I was saying that one incident certainly would not be what I'd judge my provider on. I'd look at their overall QOS compared to other networks.
