T-Mobile $29.99 Plan Upgrade: 50min More!

Thanks to edwardthefrog @ FW, I now have just the plan I need for my "free" Amazon T-Mobile phone.

I called 1-800-937-8997, pressed "3, to discontinue service", and asked the helpful CSR to add 50 minutes to my existing 200 anytime minutes plan. No problem.

The new plan has a 40 cent/min overage instead of 35, but I don't run over the limit. Someone said the ping-pongs might be reduced, but I don't care about that. Monthly charge remains $29.99 + taxes.

I'll have to try this. I got in on the t-mobile samsung R225 deal with amazon at the end of august. I still haven't sent in the damn rebates though because I haven't received the first bill. I was going to call soon because they have to be postmarked by Nov 1, so while i'm asking about that I'll see if i can get some more minutes.

Update: "Hawaii" @ FW informs me there has been an additional 50 minutes added to the plan!

You don't need to tell them you're cancelling. Just call in and speak to someone. All I had to do was tell them the website had the minutes at 250 and my bill has it at 200 and asked if I could get the 250 on my plan. She said yes and in a few minutes it was done. No cancellation threats are necessary.

you can also add 15 extra minutes to the 19.99 plan using this process. Total 75 minutes. Best of all No contract!

i just got the bill and they automatically added 50 minutes to it. I had 300 anytime for the $29.99 /month plan. I had initially agreed on 250 anytime.

Called T-Mobile and they kindly set it up right away. Great post! 250 + 50 more minutes and my account reset so I get a free bucket of 300 minutes this month (today is 31 though). Thanks from Hawaii!
