Update 4/13/2011:
It's live but...

(Perhaps it was a bit TOO popular...)

Linky

Even More Plus plans are the month-to-month BYOD non-contract plans. They're no longer advertised, but T-Mo still offers them. This may be a "Screw AT&T" promotion T-Mo is doing to get grandfathered in when T-Mo gets absorbed.

Note: Unlimited Data, throttled after 2GB. T-Mo's throttling knocks it down to about 64kbps downstream, and it's for the most part unusable once you get throttled, even for web.

That's not really that great since T-Mobile has already started to switch its throttling to 2gb on their new plans. I guess the biggest bonus is the unlimited minutes, but even then, now you can get unlimited mobile to mobile on AT&T. With a corporate discount, it's not that much cheaper to go T-mobile. I'd say the biggest bonus would be T-Mobile's HSPA+ network is better, for now.

That's a ridiculous price! If memory serves correctly, verizon and att are $69.99 for unlimited minutes alone. Plus $20 for unlimited text and $25/$30 for data. $115/$130/month.

Sprint's Simply Everything is $99.99 and premium data charge of $10 and you're at $110/month.

It is that great. Basically the original plan if I recall was the same as this but at 500 minutes. It's unlimited now at the same price. Yes, they may have started throttling but that point is moot. At some point, everyone will be throttled regardless of which carrier you're on.

You mentioned unlimited mobile to mobile, but that is EXTREMELY situational. For example, on ATT, you have the unlimited mobile to mobile and the A-List (if you're on an eligible plan) but you're still limited to what's considered your unlimited minutes. Not everyone you know is on the same carrier as you and you have zero control over that.

It's unlimited minutes with 2GB.

And since it's no-contract, they can kill it once the Death Star takes over, no?

Something tells me these deals are a trap :) Once AT&T takes over T-mo, there is going to be only one big GSM carrier in the US. So if you buy a GSM phone for this deal, they'll raise prices and you'll be stuck with a phone that only works on their network.

The huge advantage about this plan is that it's BYOD, so you have the option to be smart about which phone you want to use.

Additionally, the screenshot shows that you can add BIS/BES with an additional $5. As far as I know this is the first ever BYOD Blackberry BIS option in the US. So if you have smart friends that are using BBM instead of SMS to message back and forth, this is somewhat a big deal. This plan is still not extremely good unless you really need the 'unlimited' part. But at least it's a start.

I agree. Personally, I'd prefer a "plan" that gave me 200 voice, 0 (or limited) texts and "unlimited" (even 2gb then throttled) data for $29.99/month. I'd be hard pressed to use 200 voice minutes on my phone every 6 months... even if I tried.

Unlimited voice/text is useless for a lot of people. The wireless companies know this so they offer it freely and instead charge high prices for data.

Precisely.

I'd run from this deal unless you can get a phone for super cheap and don't mind ditching it when AT&T inevitably deep-sixes this plan...

Which is probably why they made this plan, to suck people into their network and then force them to stay on later.

The difference with Sprint's is that it really is unlimited. No data cap at all on their Simply Everything plan. Then they have their Unlimited Calling to any Mobile for $80 with Text and Data "unlimited".

Also Verizons is actually Unlimited. At least on the phones.
On the 3G modems I think it is capped, and more expensive besides.

My contract with T-Mobile expires in December. At that time, I will look for a pentaband phone to lock in for T-Mobile's rates under a 2 year contract. Should the terms of that new contract deviate from my current one, I will bail. Probably go to Sprint, cancel my cable's data and sign up for Sprint unlimited & tethering.

Yes, I will pay dearly but at least I will use extensively. Why pay for 105 GB per month combined if I only use 1/3 of my allowance...

How could ATT kill this? I understand you aren't under contract, but what would they do? Say "Hey I know you have this great thing going and everything, but we don't want that to happen? Have our 2 year contract instead!" Is that doable?

That is exactly what they will do. They will change that plan's pricing to theirs.

Though, if you mostly call cell phones, Sprint's Everything Data plan works out great since you get free any mobile. Brings it down to $80+tax/fees

In all fairness, I've seen many markets migrate to ATT and have yet to see them force people to change their plans. Like I've said, people still have regional plans.

People are so quick to hate.

But you're not on a contract, so you don't really have anything to be grandfathered into.

Yea, but I'm saying I've never seen evidence of ATT changing anyone's existing plans regardless if they were still on contract or not when they got sucked into ATT.

Unless anyone here has had this happen to them in the past I'd say people are working themselves up for no reason.

That would be perfect for me as well. I pay $40 (+tax)/mo for 500min/0 text/unlimited data. I barely reach 200 minutes in any given month.

An unlimited data at $15-20/mo plus prepaid minutes would be even better. :)

I just don't see why anyone would avoid this deal for now regardless of what ATT may do in the future. No contract required. If you have a compatible device already then what do you have to lose?
