I'm thinking of replacing my Pally with a T-Bred, there's one store I can order from, they only have the 1800, but I could probably find a way to get someone to order a 1700 from somewhere else, would it be worth it?

AXDA1800DLT3C for the XP1800+
AXDA1700DUT3C for a 1700+ at one site, looking for others (in the UK)
A or B?

A or B?

DLT3C - Tbred A
DUL3c - Tbred B

i suggest go for 1700+ and make sure is a Tbred B... with good steeping, good motherboard (nforce2 at most), good heatsink, and proper case cooling im sure this cpu will get u at least 2Ghz...

mine is 1700+ Tbreb B and now its running at 1900Mhz @ default voltage.. i cant go farther than that coz i have a crappy motherboard....

hope this helps ;)

B's can be extreme overclocked. hehe, actually B's can just be OC'ed a lot easier then A's. people have gotten 800mhz overclocking results with B's. gotta love buyin a 1700+ for 50 bux and getting it up to 2400+ speeds that cost 130 bux. :D

I know there is a heat difference between Palomino's and Thoroughbreds but is there any between the A & B's?

My $35 1700 B is now a 2600+.....I tested in for the full 6 hours with Hot CPU tester and it is 100% stable, at almost stock voltage I might add. You can't go wrong with a 1700 B.....:)

As far as the A versus B variety, there is a huge difference as far as overclocking. All of the 1700 A's that I had would hit the wall about 1900 MHZ, where the B's will get to 2.1 ghz and beyond.....:)

thats thx to amd and their revision
they added a few layrs to the core, and some other things i think but i cant rememebr right now lol

they had trouble making the tbred a core (then known as just tbred, as they ddidnt know they would have to revise it most likely) go over 2000ish mhz or so, which they needed for 2400+ and all, so they revised the core to allow higher mhz

...then they decided to do away with all tbred a's altogheter i believe, thats why the tbred b's have trickled down to lower models

(yeah i cant type properly, :p)
