T-Bird getting a bit too hot

Ok, I have a 1ghz T-Bird with a FOP32-1 fan/heatsink and Arctic Silver thermal compound. When I originally built my computer somewhere around 3/4 of a year ago, I remember the temps being really low, like the CPU being around 35C-40C after playing games. Now, recently I checked the BIOS and it was 52C after a bit of gaming and mostly web browsing. This kind of worries me. Should I just open my case, clean the fan and heatsink and reapply the arctic silver, do something else, or not worry at all?

Cleaning the heatsink fan and reapplying the thermal grease should help in reducing the temps. However, like what Wind said, if you system is still stable, don't worry about it.

Leave it alone. You could damage the core by taking it off. My 1.2 gets up to 52 celcius, and I use arctic silver II, but my room temp is frequently 83-85 f.

Yeah...use your vacuum cleaner...(if it has lots of suction, DO NOT bring it right next to the computer), or one of those little bottles of compressed air to clean ur system

I like the cold weather too...my load temps are down a full 6-8C :D

Thanks guys, I figured out what my problem was. Not only were all the spaces between the heatsink completely engulfed in big pieces of dust, my two system fans werent running! 1 of them is connected to the other, and the other to the power supply, and the plug somehow got disconnected. Now Im running almost 15C cooler!
