I'm pretty certain my power supply has ruined my motherboard, and now I'm replacing the board and getting a new processor too. I'm purchasing the parts soon, and I think I'm going to go with an Athlon Thunderbird 800 and the Gigabyte GA-7ZXR board. Is there any reason I shouldn't go with these?
Also, the board I have that was fried is an Abit-BX6R2, so I have two sticks of PC-100 memory, one generic (from www.jncs.com) and one Corsair. Will these sticks be compatible with the Gigabyte board? Thanks,

If you plan to overclock that chip, probably best to get a ASUS A7V or ABIT KT7. Otherwise the Gigabyte board is ok (has a cool blue pcb =D). Memory should work fine on any KT133 board you buy.

Thanks. I didn't figure I'd do any overclocking with it, so didn't figure it was worth the extra to go with an ASUS or Abit. The only reason I thought the Abit looked better than the Gigabyte for me was the fact that the Abit was jumperless. Do you know if there are a lot of jumpers on the Gigabyte that I'd need to set?

If you are not looking to overclock, you may be interested in the Tyan Trinity KT. There is a review of it Here.

I have been looking for a good, stable, no frills board to build T-Bird/Duron systems for my customers, and decided to give the Tyan a whirl. The board offers a great 3 year warranty, and from what I understand, end-user support directly from Tyan. It may not be what you are looking for, but for $113.00 + free shipping from Buy.com. it is worth checking out.
