T-bird 750@1000 just by raising the fsb to 133! Is this possible?

Its perfectly possible. 750's have a mult of 7.5 @ fsb 100mhz. Up that by 33% to 133mhz nad you have a (133*7.5) 1ghz processor. Course not all processors will do this.

Well, he points out that at DEFAULT multiplier, in your case 7.5, your chip itself has to handle the 133 FSB. If it can't make it, it's just that the chip isn't capable of hitting a gig. You can always lower the multiplier and still try out the 133 FSB. Trial and error brotha, the overclocker's mantra.

So i would be better to buy a 800-850 T-Bird, unlock it and then see how much could hit? I mean i can always lower the multi. to 7.5x.

What do you think??

You'd be best off buying a garanteed one, if your intent on trying for a gig. I don't know what the chance of the 800's doing it, But you can always lower the multiplier and raise the bus speed if it does'nt, should do 900-950MHz, which aint bad especially if you can hit that with a 133MHz and above bus.

Or you can wait till next week and the "supposed" AMD price drop. You can probably get an OEM gigger for $140- $150 by then. I just got a 1.0ghz@1150 from this forum for $125- shop around. Dont be afraid to make someone an offer on the FS forum.
