T-Bird 1.4 hotter than the XP athlon 2.0 (2400+)???

I know it sounds stupid, but I thought I remember reading that the XP processors run cooler (and use less power) than the older Thunderbirds, is that still the case? Would a 2400+ run cooler and pull less power than the 1.4 Tbird?

Yeah, I know they run hotter, and I'm pretty sure they suck up more Power as well. Even the Palomino Athlon XP's run near 60C, but my 2100+ Thoroughbred-B Athlon XP runs around 33C at stock speeds.
