T-Bird 1.4 Ghz and HEAT! Ouch it's HOT!

Hi,

I have an Asus A7M266 (AMD 761) and Crucial 256MB DDR combo... I have been running for about 16 hours a day through the hottest parts of the day without crashes, hang-ups or other problems.

I have a pretty big heat sink and fan on the processor (Thunderbird 1.4 Ghz) and it still runs pretty hot - between 58 C and 62 C, depending on what the ambient temperature is, but stable as heck. I am concerned about the heat and am looking for official recommended operating temps from AMD...

I've emailed them my concerns but have not heard anything back yet. Does anyone have reliable info on this? I know that the processor can tolerate up to 90 C, but I'm looking for the recommended operating temperature, not tolerance level.

Thanks.

What heatsink/fan do you have?

What case?

How many case fans?

Actually 62C is not all that bad....

Aren't the Asus boards known to read hotter than most?

Recommend temp would probably be 55C or less.
