T-bird 1.2 Question ?!

I thought the same, although i have seen reports that some are and some are not. Was just trying to buy one and i send an e-mail with the question. The answer i got is that the L1 bridges were not connected.
 
i think the situation is this: there was one week or something in january when they were somehow showing up connected. either that, or some reseller is making it easier on people (i tend to believe the second because there must have been some major error at the fab to incorrectly pattern the metal or major news if AMD decided to unlock). i just got my athlon 1.2 on thursday and it was not unlocked.
 
I seen 3 Jan week 3's that were unlocked...it seems most are getting unlocked 1.2's...I did see someone indicate there week 52 was locked but that was a dec 1.2. The one I have seen were from 2 different sources
 
I have just arrived home from buying my 1.2. if you want an unlocked, go to AxionTech, i just examined the 5 they have and they are all unlocked. They are also week 3 chips. Pricy though $308..

I guess i'll have a look around and see if i can get an unlocked one. I'm quite concerned about the reports of locked cpu's trying to boot at the default multiplier than the bios seting.
 
I just got mine from Peach PC. $263 plus shipping if you quote Pricewatch. Unlocked. I have seen a couple of other posts from people buying there, and all that I saw said theirs were unlocked. Mine is marked 0103.
 
flexer1; In my dreams!😀 I'm new to overclocking, so I'll be taking my time. Like Clint Eastwood said,"A man's got to know his limitations." I just got the chip and I'm still waiting for the HSF to arrive and then I'll be assembling everything. 1.4Ghz sounds like a very nice goal. We'll see. Right now I just want to get the parts and get it going.
