The developers didn't "leave anything out" from Crysis - they just made new stuff. Stardock might be the only developer around that gives the fanbase stuff for free - don't get used to it.

They keep saying that it's like a full length game, but Crysis itself was quite short so I don't know what that is supposed to mean.

I liked Crysis though, so I'm looking forward to this.

Crysis wasn't that short, really - only if you didn't take the time to explore. You have to remember that the developers designed each area with great care so that you can take just about any path you choose - make use of that freedom. I remember the first time I came to the beach, I opted for running and jumping across the rocks in the ocean like Sonic rather than going for a head-on fight. It was pretty cool.

I did take my time to explore, but still thought it was too short. Far Cry also had a similar, open ended feel but must have been at least 50% longer.

Crysis ended very abruptly (seems to be the norm among games these days :p) and should have had a couple more levels where you went back on the island.

What I'm getting out of this thread is that people who didn't plan to get Warhead are butthurt that they aren't getting the patch, and those of us that planned to get it all along are excited and can't wait to play it when they get home from work...

I've played alot of FPS. Stalker, BIOSHOCK, QUAKES (2-4), all the DOOMs, COD4, UNREAL, etc..

I really enjoyed crysis once I got an 8800GT. I've been playing it lately, on Delta, with the lights out, in headphones, and I get a great sense of immersion.

The MP in Crysis wasn't much though, but apparently they really spiced it up in Warhead.

Far Cry was almost absurdly long. An almost 20 hour fps? 10-12 is the sweet spot imo. Warhead is pegged at about 5, but if I play it the way I played Crysis I'm looking at close to twice that, plus at least one more play through, plus DM. A bargain at $30.

BTW. its opinions like these that caused the development of WARHEAD. It's a different game completely, it just shares the story line. I've read you get ten times the action in half the time as with Crysis. It's setup to have the COD MP intensity 100% of the time. Rather with Crysis, which was 70% stalking through the jungle, 15% sniping or being a ninja, and 15% actual intense fighting.

You can still do that. But it's not quite as effective since you are in a much denser populated part of the island. you'll get caught easier and engaged more often.

I'll be getting it after work today. BB is getting the shipment from UPS during the day. Should be in stock when I go to the store after work.

Yeah I felt the action in the original Crysis was just right. There was some decent battles and I enjoyed having it slow down to just a few small patrols throughout the jungle. So this action all the time isn't something I really wanted, but I definitely will buy it anyway as the first was excellent.

Circuit City advertised they would have it today by 2pm for $25, but I just got back and nothing yet (they said tomorrow probably). Target was next door, they had a sticker but sold out. The last place that would have it this late was Walmart so I went there and they had plenty of Warhammer Online and Clear Sky copies but no Crysis Warhead! Argh!

I had bought Clear Sky at CC anyway though. Hopefully CC will still have copies by the time I can get there tomorrow night.

I am..but I have patience [and I'm a cheap bastard]

Ordered from Newegg for 27.99 with the live cashback feature of a whopping 3% off. Should be in my hands in about 3-7 days [by that time I should be putting STALKER Clear Sky up for sale on ebay because the game companies haven't restricted me from reselling YET]. :)
