Sytrin VF1-Plus Question

I have my vid card all set up with the new cooler (1800xt), and am still a couple of days from powering on. I had read some articles that said the Sytrin VF1-Plus blew the hot air towards the motherboard rather than out of the case. The idea was to let the case fans take the hot air out, which makes sense...but not with the side that the VF1 sits on.

I'm using a Lian-Li PC7B and a Foxconn C51XEM2AA- 8EKRS2H board. I also plan on using one of the two PCI slots for Soundblaster X-FI.

Anyone who has used this cooler, is the PCI fan needed to keep other peripherals from taking on too much heat? or is the VF1-Plus' system for removing the air enough to keep my case cool.

Thanks.

Hrm...

This is my VGA cooler of choice, e.g. what I run in my primary machine!

Look, this thing is brutal! There's no other way of putting it! Don't ask me why it works so good, but it makes mince meat out of everything else. Basically, it's no contest -- but, that's not what you're asking about...

Yes, it blows hot air on the mobo, but in reality, what's it going to heat up? Think about it! It's gonna blow some warm air on your Soundblaster -- hello?!?!?!?

Okay... I just looked into my case. What's in there -- what's it blowing hot air on? Answer: my external USB headers...

Bottom line: Don't worry about it!

The only downside to using this thing is, while Masscool/Sytrin throws some screws, stand-offs, and other stuff like that into the package -- they're useless! I don't care what you do -- you're either going to end up down at Ace Hardware buying some screws that work on your setup, or you'll end up bastardizing the ones that it came with. In other words, don't try to install this thing at 3:45 AM, or you're gonna be pissed -- hurling obscenities at the top of your lungs, waking up your household, and probably your neighbors too.

That said, it's still worth it! Personally, I wouldn't even consider using anything else -- that's how much I like the Sytrin VF-1 Plus!!! It's a labor of love... and I do love these things! ;)

Thanks man, much appreciated.

I installed the thing last night and couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the screws to fit....lol...and there was yelling involved. I don't know why they dont provide screws that fit, but oh well...I can't wait to get this sytem booted up. Just need to get the Soundblaster X-Fi tomorrow and set up the hard disks in raid 0. :crosses fingers:
