I have recently changed hard drives on a system with an ecs k7ama board and 800 chip. I also changed some of the peripherals. I am still using win xp pro. Since the new hard drive install I have been unable to shut down the computer automatically. I goes to the black screen that says "YOur computer is ready to be shut down and I have to flip the toggle switch on the back of the power supply. I didnt have to do this before. Is it a bad install? Should I try to reinstall? I'm lost at this point. Please help.

I shut down, hit delete upon restart and go into setup. I go into power management setup, under power management I have the following options, 1. disabled 2. apm 3. apci 4apm/apci which of these would I need to select?

Thanks guys, you were both right. I had to set the apm in the power management, and enable apm/nt legacy node that was listed in the article. Thanks again guys, I would have never gotten that by myself.
