Systemworks Pro 2002 and WinXP

Recently installed Windows XP and was running great. I'm suprised on how fast it is on a P2 450MHZ. But anyways, I installed Systemworks Pro 2002 and now everything seems to be a lot slower. I looked at the processes to find the svchost.exe is taking 50-60% of my CPU Usage. Figuring that the only change I did was install Systemworks, I uninstalled it and everything went back to normal. I later reinstalled it to find the same problem exists. I was able to narrow down to what looks to be the source of the probem. If I disable Norton Antivirus on the taskbar, my CPU usage goes back to normal. But when I renable it, I'm back to 50-60% CPU Usage. Anyone have similar problems. Any ideas. This was a fresh install of Windows XP and a few other programs. Thanks

I have Norton Antivirus running in my system tray and the SVHOST.exe does not take up any CPU usage. If you have Norton Utilities running, then I think that might be the source of your problems. Systemworks installs all this stuff that runs in the background, so just disable whatever you don't use. Hope this helps.

You probably have a lot of the functions of Systemworks enabled and running in the background. You need to make sure NOTHING loads other than Norton Antivirus. System Doctor, Win Doctor, Cleansweep, and others might be running and they can really bog things down. Run them manually when needed.

Agree, do another clean install and this time do a custom install. Have it so that only AV is running at startup.
