McAfee deal was discussed in this thread, SystemWorks deal in this thread, but both deals require ownership of previous copy. If you do not have a previous copy, you can still qualify if you buy both.

From Amazon, Norton SystemWorks 2003 for $62.99 + VirusScan Home Edition 7.0 for $39.99 = $102.98 - $10 coupon - $20 Amazon Norton rebate - $20 Amazon McAfee rebate - $30 Norton rebate for McAfee product upgraders - $20 McAfee rebate for Norton Product upgraders = $2.98 for both whether you owned a previous copy or not

You can find the TEN BUCKS 4 Norton SystemWorks coupon code at the site that specializes in Tech Bargains - just search for Norton.

nice deal, and you get to use macafee virusScan in place of the retarded pay a year at a time on updates on your anti-virus from too cheap mr.Norton.

Maybe I'm slow, I don't understand it.

How can you get the 'upgrade' rebates again?

Does buying Norton Systemworks 2003 qualify as a upgrade for McAfee and vica versa? It doesn't seem like that on the form.

To renew your years subscription to the Nortons Virus updates, just reinstall the product. no payment necessary....

LizReed, I remember discussing this in another thread, turns out, you cannot simply reinstall the software as subscription date is stored separately in Windows registry. Your last sentence should read "...reinstall Windows. no payment necessary."

Proof: Install Antivirus, note subscription dates, uninstall AntiVirus, reinstall Norton AntiVirus, and you'll see subscription date remained unchanged.

What surprised me was that you could not even download Antivirus definitions manually (!).
I moved my system clock up a few years, tried installing virus definitions from a file (not through LiveUpdate) -- can't be done.

Reinstalling Windows, or violating :confused:gasp:confused: the user agreement and messing around with Windows registry to reset the subscription date is the only alternative to yearly subscriptions. Most people don't notice because Windows will usually crash and require to be reinstalled long before subscription runs out.

"That's all I have to say about that."
