Systems shuts off when running prime95 on Asus A7v333

I have an asus A7V333 and whenever I run the prime96 torture test it gets about 10 mins into it and then the computer flips off. I turn it back on and get a "cpu failed power on self test" until I turn off/on the power supply then it boots normally.

I just put in a new ANTEC 400W power supply so I don't think that is the problem.
The cpu is running at 64 degrees C so I don't think it is heat.
I am not over clocked.
The bios is set at factory defaults.
They memory passes the memtest86 test for a couple of hours so I think it is fine.

Any suggestions on what else to look at. I would rather not buy a new motherboard but I think that is the problem at this point.

Thanks,

I set my cpu shutoff temp at 80 to make sure that cop wasn't shutting down my system.

I have the oem cpu fan with 2 fans in my power supply and a case fan that flows 50cfm.

The air comming from the back of my case is cool so unless the boxed oem athlon fan doesn't cool the cpu well enough I don't know why it would overheat.

I am testing it again now underclocked to 1150 (with the cover off) and the cpu is running at 51 degrees. We'll see if it is stable now.

From my experince with Prime the CPU has the the main thing that it finds wrong. I have heard some people say that once they replaced there motherboard it fixed it. But I have never needed to do that becuase Prime fails.

hi,
that cpu temperature sure sounds high to me too. can you try reseating the heatsink and putting on new as3 or whatever hs compound you are using? this should help a lot.
good luck

Ok, so I pulled the heat sink and put new grease on and now the temps fell to 51 degrees C.

I think that did it.
