Anybody know why this would be happening? I have an AMD xp +1800, 1gig ram, and win2k. I also have a dvd-rom and an cdrw. This just started happening last night. I didn't realize it was becasue of the dvd-rom until tonight. Could this be a virus?

maybe not a virus but do you have any friends that have a good knowledge of writing scripts? If you do, then one of them might be playing a trick on you ;) If so... that's one great trick, but if not, sucks to be you :(

It happens even during the boot process. If it is in the middle of booting and I press the button it will reboot again! I don't get it!

*laugh* you gotta love quirky electricity. My computer won't boot when placed in close proximity to my carpet. There's an incredibley remote chance that the DVD drive is drawing to much power when you hit the button it might spike, but for that to be a problem you'de need to have a ton of devices drawing power and a 100w psu.

good luck man.
