Puzzle that no one can solve?

After serveral attempts to remove this agrevating event, I fanally succeded in the registry removal.
But it reacurred and the same registry key was not found as before that solved the problem then.
I dumped 2k (for other reasons) and reinstalled.
After downloading SP1 from Microsoft and rebooting,
The System32 folder opens upon startup.

If anyone knows a specific method to stop this event, please post.

EDIT: I found out that this occured before downloading. It was after we installed drivers and then rebooted.

I removed the only "system32" entry found in the registry. Did not stop it from opening.
I edited the bootlog.txt file and found no reference to "system32".

Is it possible that a batch file or some command Win2k is starting that is not in the registry lines? Where can this command to open this file be coming from?

My wife is accusing me of being obsessed? Just close the file she says. But that's not the point.

Solved AGAIN!! Thanks Jim,

It was a registry entry, but this time made no reference to System32 folder. As Jim suggested,
1. Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\Windows-load: the entry : Reg_sz was blank under the data column. I deleted this entry because it was proceeded and followed by no related items.
2. Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and runOnce and RunServices were all checked for the same null entries. One was found and deleted also.

Upon rebooting, System32 folder did not open.

Hope this helps anyone who may have this aggrevating nuisance.

For some reason, I cannot delete those black entries ... not even as Administrator.

For me, My Documents always opens when I log in. My machine at work does NOT have this problem at all.

-SUO, still perplexed
