Just installed a Gigabyte GA-6VEML motherboard in my kids computer and now when I choose to shutdown the system it will shut down the operating system and then begins to restart. I am running Windows XP Home and am not sure what options I have.

Thanks

Did you plug the pin jumpers up in the right order? if you dont get them in order it could do that.
I hooked my jumpers up wrong and the comp when turned on would not turn off. try pressing the power button when its on. If it just restarts you probably have the jumpers on wrong

Two wires come from the case power button, a black and a red. On the mother board diagram it shows where the two wires should go ( along with the led pins). I tried both combinations to no avail, same results. The only other wires are a green, black, yellow, black and they seem to be for the HDD indicator and power led.

I have had the same problem with WinXP on an Abit KT7a-RAID I just would hit the power button during the memory self test. Not much of a solution, but you aren't alone.
