hey guys, once again coming to you for some help. i decided to run a virus scan (trendmicros free online scan, housecall). so i get it started running it in latest version of firefox (its supposed to work with firefox now) if that matters, go to the washroom and come back and its at the system startup splash screen for my MSI K8N-Neop 2 Platinum mobo, it proceeds to attempt at starting up i see some stuff i dont recognize and then i get this...

PIC HERE

and its just stuck there. so i go to my family pc and i look it up and there are a bunch of things on it but nothing that i can find that works. can anyone tell me what this might be caused by and how to get around it, or if youve encountered it before, or where i can find some in depth info on it?

thanks in advance.

*** thought i might note that i was trying to do the housecall scan in safe mode with networking. and yes i know my screen is dirty cleaning in progress.***

The PXE messages are from your network card. It's trying to get a boot image from the network.

The key line is the last one: "Invalid partition table".
Your hard drive's partition table has been damaged. Without a valid paritiion table, none of your programs or data can be accessed. Your options are to repair the partition table or to re-install your operating system.

I'm sure that folks who have done partition table repair will chime in with some appropriate software. Hopefully, you keep backups of any important data on the hard drive.

As to why this happened....
Perhaps your drive got infected with a boot sector virus, which Trend tried to remove (unsuccessfully).

k thanks, i opened up my case and made sure all the sata cables were well hooked up. cleaned it out (which i dont think made any changes) and then booted it back up and it works. i did switch the which ports on the mobo my 2 sata HDD plug into put 1 in 2 and 2 in 1. everything seems to be working. i can reboot without a problem and nothing strange has happened yet. is anything i can use to find problems somewhere that i just dont know how to find or may want to look for?

thanks
