I was replacing the heatsink/fan on an IBM Netvista system. The old one was dying.

It has a Celeron 1Ghz

When I replaced it and started the system, I got the IBM boot screen but could not go to Bios and got no beeps.

After a couple tries, I got no video.

The fans all spin up, the hard drive spins up, and I can open and close the cd tray.

I noticed that the heatsink i put on wasn't seated properly, so I fear I fried the cpu. I thought, however, that this cpu had an internal diode that would shut the system down if this was the case. There are no burn marks etc...

I have reset the cmos to no avail and reseated the cpu and heatsink properly, as well as the ram. I also checked all cables to make sure I didn't dislodge anything.

Is there anything else I can try? Any ideas?
