Do you mean boot into Windows?

You stated you flash the ROM. Have you tried reseeding the processor, making sure its correct and there isn't space btw heatsink and the processor. It might be overheating, etc.

no, processor and heatsink is not the case.

system won't even post.

it won't even give the usual beeps that help you dignose the issue, whether its ram, proc or vid.

its dead silent.

no response whatsoever.

Even without the processor, it won't beep? You ran it for a week.

Dude, I've seen brand new parts die in week and gone back to newegg.com that I've bought.

i still don't know which part is causing the problem, so i can't say for sure which part is not working.

Its mostly likely the motherboard or the powesupply. Unless you have spare computer to test things out with, its mostly one of those two.

You stated its not the RAM, etc and you pull the unnecessary items from the powersupply. YOu can maybe borrow a buddy's powersupply to check.

i doubt that the power supply is messed up. its also a brand new 500 watts ultra x-connect. i got it over 5 days ago.

if brand new parts start to go bad in 5 days, then what the heck are you supposed to do.

i have a spare psu and its only 250 watts.

i wonder if it would be enough just to give the system a try.

There are issues like ESD that could of happen etc, the 250 should get you up to POST. Dell only uses 250 to 300 watters in their P4 systems, but then again Dell powersupplies are top notch.

If it is dead silent, then it's likely to be an electrical issue with ur PWS... so you are saying no fans come on, either in the PWS or HSF? No LEDs?

Start basic and make sure that at least the wall outlet works and plug computer directly into that instead of a surge protector for the time being.....
Then find a local repair shop with a liberal return policy so you can test out a new PWS, or see what they charge for this service.......

ALso, is there anyway the mobo is shorting out?
