system won,t boot up

I recently built a computer(which i,ve done loads of times) and on boot up i get nothing on my screen and it continally beeps i.e.
Beep for about 2 secs then quiet for about 2 secs then beeps and so on..

My system is..
Ait va-10 motherboard
1.8 athlon cpu
256 ddr 400 ram

any1 got any idea,s

It sounds like you may have a short somewhere. Remove all plugins and RAM, re-insert the RAM and your vid card, and nothing more.

If the problem continues, you may have a short between the board and the case. Remove them, again, unscrew the motherboard from the case, and slip some cardboard or other insulator under it, and try again. If that solves the problem, reassemble it carefully.

Take your motherboard out and place it on a piece of cardboard. Plug in your power supply, install only your CPU, Memory, and Videocard. Do not install any other peripheral devices. Power it up and see if it posts. If not, then get the manual for your motherboard and read about the beep codes. Not all motherboards use the same beep codes.
