I'm having trouble finding a case with all 120mm case fans (front intake, rear exhaust) as well as a powersupply with a single 120mm fan. Obviously I want a xp-120 for my cpu

on, yeah and are panaflos still the best 120mm fan for quietness? (I plan on using a fan controller). I keep hearing about yate loon and other brands I've really never used.

Any input is appreciated

Get an Antec SLK3000B case. It takes two 120mm case fans, one in the front, one in the back. It does not come with a PSU so you can choose a good 120mm-fan unit.

Then get a Seasonic S12 PSU (it has a 120mm fan) and put it in there. It is THE quietest fan-cooled PSU you can buy.

The Panaflos are good, not sure how the newer Chinaflos are impacting the quality of the line though. The Yate Loons are also good 120mm quiet fans, and the Nexus 120mms are rebadged Yate Loons.

HTH.

Wow that case is cheap too!! Thanks a bunch for the info- That psu looks sweet as well. ALso, does it matter what speed the fans are (low, med, high) if I'm using a multi-fan controller?

Mediums should suffice... Unless you will be overclocking or running a gaming system with hot-running graphics cards, then I'd go high-speed fans (dial them up for those fragfests, and back down to quiet speed for normal use).

I have an Antec Sonata and a Logisys Phantom. Both take 120mm fans front and rear. The Phantom also has an 80mm on the side window, so that may rule it out for you.

The Sonata is MUCH quieter than the Phantom with a 500w XConnect.

Power supply... many companies make them with 120mm (or larger) fans. Athena Power, TTGI/Superflower, Fortron, Silverstone, Seasonic...

HSF, Thermalright or Zalman.

Case... various Antecs, Lian Li PC-7 plus, various pseudo-BTX such as Lian-Li v1000 and Silverstone Temjin, Compucase...
