My system:

Leadtek K7N415DA nForce2 mboard
Athlon XP 2100+
512Mb DDR266
4 hard drives, DVD/RW, CDRW - 2 HD's on RAID card (not RAID configured)
Dual boot - Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Home

The problem (get ready its long...):

Yesterday I shut down my PC (was working fine). A short while later my wife switched it back on and it wouldnt boot. I was present and she didnt do anything to the PC just pressed the power button.

The POST completes without problem and all drives are detected by the bios.
It then goes to the dual boot menu but when I choose Windows XP Pro I get a message telling me there is a computer disk hardware configuration error straight away and the boot process stops.

If I try the XP Home installation it starts to boot but shortly after the white loading bar disappears the machine reboots - no error messages nothing.

I also have the recovery console option set up -when I try this it starts to load and then blue screens with a stop 0x0a ACPI error message and microsofts site says this about my particular error messsage:

"The system cannot enter ACPI mode. There are many reasons for this, including:
The system cannot initialize the AML interpreter.
The system cannot find the Root System Description table.
The system cannot allocate a critical driver.
The system cannot load the Root System Description table.
The system cannot load device descriptor blocks.
The system cannot connect an interrupt vector.
The SCI_EN (system control interrupt enable request) cannot be set (see 0x00000001).
The ACPI Table checksum is incorrect.
ACPI is a hierarchical arrangement of tables, each one building upon the next to define the complete capabilities of the system and of every device in the system. ACPI starts by looking for the Root System Description table, which points to the next table, which points to the next table, and so on. Usually, the 0x000000011 error occurs because these tables are damaged or missing."

If I try to boot from cdrom nothing happens - the system ignores the CD. I have tried booting from both
optical drives and it is as if the system doesnt see them (although they are present in the bios, have power, and the drive lights react when a disk is inserted). I have tried booting off different copies of CD (Xp pro, home etc) and I know these are bootable as I have checked them.

If I change all the boot sequence to CDROM i just get a disk boot failure message

Without being able to boot from CD I dont know how i can try to get the system back up. BTW even booting from a floppy wont work!!! (disk boot error again).

Any ideas guys??? Is my hardware goosed?? Is it the mboard or what? How come my bios detects the dvdrw and cdrw drives but wont boot from them (if I remove the power from a drive it disappears from the bios and reappears after replugging the power so I know they are being detected correctly.)

HELP PLEASE...:(
