I have had a minor problem with a system for months now, and I'm sick of it. I just want to know WHY!

System:
Asus K8V Se Deluxe (rev. 1004)
AMD64 3200+ (hammer) (1.5V @ < 40 deg C)
512MBx2 PC2700
ATI 9700 Pro
Antec 400W PSU (I have tried a PurePower 480W as well, same problem)

Problem:

When the system is inatially cold booted, I get no video signal to the monitor and the system does not seem to POST. After hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del, the system POSTs fine and loads XP. There are no other stability problems encountered with the system. I am not overclocking. Occassionally, I get a BIOS error that overclocking has failed, F1 to setup. But again... I check and there is no problem in the BIOS.

Why would this happen? Any ideas on how to fix it...

Thanks.

Go into bios and set everything to defaults. Start from there. Might be some weird key combo stting to start your PC. On my system I can set the bios to start from key combos. Maybe yours is set to start using control alt delete.

I'll check that setting, but I've reset the CMOS many times with this system... and it still does it. However, it's not every single time... just 90% of the time.
