System Shutdown popup in xp pro

After I am online with internet explorer in xp pro for about 10 min or less I get this popup that says the system will shut down in 1 minute due to a Remote Proceedure Call, by NT\ Authority|System. And guess what. It shuts down in 1 minute. Nothing I can do to stop it. What in the world is this and how can I fix it. Other than
 
log onyto windows in safemode and go to windows updates and get the critical updates. One of them fixes them, not sure which 1 does. Just get all of them.. My problem is now gone.
