On my wife's old PII 400, when looking at the control/system settings..she has 4 moutherboard resources in the system devices...I take it this is not normal but how do I know which ones to delete?

if everything is working, I suggest you leave them all there (if it a'int broke don't fix it )

What OS? Some win OS's allow you to remove what ever you want from the device manager and then on reboot will just redetect those devices properly...

I had a gravis gamepad USB that was redetected ever third or so boot. So after a week or to the machine had 30 gravis gamepad's attached to it, but I only owned one. So I just removed all of them and rebooted, and then for a while I only got one.

This process is not recomended for all things, and as DaiShan put it...

If it ain't brok don't fix it. ESPECIALLY when it regards a Microshaft product...
