Does this take up a lot of resources? I usually turn it off but I might leave it on if it doesn't use a lot of resources.

It does come in handy, and has saved me from at least one re-format. More than RAM, I am troubled by the Harddrive space it might take. Creating backups of the entire system must take a ton of space, right?

I don't think make a backup of the entire system but rather important settings that work at time you do the restore point. I use it continually and when I put in a restore point it is done in a wink of an eye. Also I have WIN XP PRO and restore points done almost every day and only used up about 5 to 6 GIG of space on my hard drive. So I don't think you that much to worry about.
