System restarts during 3DMark06 test...

I was running Futuremark's 3DMark06 Benchmarking software yesterday. During a specific Graphics Test ('Deep Freeze'), my system would just restart! I ran the test again, and my system restarted again! Please note, that the restart occurs at the same moment in the test everytime I run it. Also, the frame rate at the time of crash is about 32-33 I think, which is not too bad....I have tried closing all other applications, and everything, and still I get the same result....the temperature is pretty much normal too...CPU: 39*, PWR: 40*, Chipset: 42*....

The card I am using is eVGA Geforce 7900GT...

Would could be the cause for this ?

actually, getting stuck/crashed during the Deep Freeze test is a well known 7900GT issue....I looked around some forums, and I am not alone in this....

and not only that, I have noticed that while playing some games, I see weird stuff happening, like slightly distorted graphics in the games...

for example, if I play Doom 3 at max video settings for like 15 minutes, the graphics start flickering a little, and become a little distorted at places, etc....

i dont know what this is all about...

Turn off Window's "automatic reboot upon failure" feature and then report the exact STOP error you see including the driver file if it was mentioned.

If you're getting artifacts, it's probably a video card issue. I believe some 79xx series have had problems with their BIOSes.

In all likelihood your system isn't stable.

Run it at stock and see what happens.

Now if it's at stock speeds then there might be a problem.
Run SP2004 (prime) and memtest to rule out the CPU/RAM.

Then, probably, it's the video card. Might need a RMA.
