System Registry

Hi. Here is my situation: I had a wonderful system that I had buided and which was working very nice until I decided that I wanted to make it a raid 0 system. My MOBO is an Iwill K266, it isn't raid so, I bhought a siig IDE 100 raid card. My computer had windows 2000 installed, my cpu is a AMD athlon IG. The Fbus on the MBO is pretty high at 150 mehz. I was at 155 before and the system was very stable running at 1317 mehz. There I went, installed the raid card, the instructions on the owner's manual weren't that good besides my little experiencie on this, I ended up killing my system and of course loosing lots of files. Ok not a big deal I thought, I will just reformat my 2 Western Digital 7200 rpms hard drives and reinstall the OS. Easy, in less the 2 hours I had everthing up and running again. I had 74+ gigabites in my C drive. Nice and fast, donwloaded some updates from Microsoft, everything was good. I turned the thing off and the next day when I went to restat it, guess what...It didn't boot. i got a blue screen and a message like this systemroot/system32/config/software. I don't play with config systems at all, so I don't really know what that message meant, all I knew was that i couldn't boot. I ended up reforamating again and reinstallig windows 98 at this time. The installation is easy and fast, but for some reason when I am reinstalling all the drivers for mother board and sound card I get this error message: System Registry problems, windows will re-start to fix the problem. It reboots and goes back to the place it was before I reinstalled all my drivers, (deletes them). I am just tired of trying and trying and always getting the same problem. I don't know much of IRQs either, and I have the feelling that that could be part of the problem.

Any help will be appreciated.
