I just built a system with an Athlon MP 2800+, but the bootup process and windows reports the cpu as "Unknown CPU" which bugs the heck out of me.

Is this a bios issue or a chip issue?
cuz if it is a bios thing, i hope msi gives a bios upgrade soon.

most likely a bios issue or the motherboard doesn't support it.

check out the motherboard manufacturer's site for a bios update.

Couldn't be due to the fact that you're using an MP processor in a single cpu mobo? I know it'll work - but maybe the bios won't recognise it?

no, i have a single MP processor in a dual MP motherboard. (i can't afford the other cpu yet. :D )
Linky to my motherboard.

I'll just wait for a bios update then.
