System Problems w/BFG 6800GT PCIe

I recently sold a forum member a BFG 6800GT PCIe card w/a Zalman VNF700-Cu cooler attached. I made sure to check the card before it left me and it was working fine, unfortunately once he received it, the card made his computer un-bootable. I thought it was maybe a PSU related issue, but don't really know for sure. He says that his systems boots when he uses his old card (6800 NU PCIe). He is also using a PCIe to Molex adapter to power the card.

Here are the specs of the system I had it running in:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
DFI LanParty nForce 4 Ultra
1GB OCZ VX
Thermalright XP-120
WD 74GB Raptor
Maxtor 300GB 16MB Cache HD
NEC 3500A DVD Burner
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
PC Power and Cooling Turbo Deluxe 510 SLI PSU
CoolerMaster Centurion 5 (80mm Intake, 120mm Exhaust)

Here are the specs of the system he is trying to run it in:

P4 3.8E0 ES
P5AD2 Premium
2X512MB Patriot PDPPC4200 DDR2
Nidia GeForce 6800GT 256mb PCIe
Ultra X Connect 500W PSU
2XMaxtorDM10300GB SATA HD
Lite ON 16X DL DVDRW+/-

Any thoughts or ideas? I have never heard of a video card making a computer completely un-bootable before. I have had dead video cards that do not show any video when I start the system, but this is just really odd. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

i am thinking its the PSU, thats a pretty cheap PSU that he is, doesnt matter its 500w since (from what i know) its bad quality...

does he have anything OC'ed also?

how old is his mobo?? what revisision?

Ultra X connect isn't the greatest PSU, but should be enough..I had a 6800GT (AGP)running on a 350w enermax, with a prescott at 3.5ghz and 2x36gig raptors..I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try another PSU though. Did you need to use the PCIe to molex adaptor with the 6800? If not, it could be related to that somehow.

Dudes & Dudettes, I oredred the PC Power & Cooling TURBO-COOL® 510 Express / SLI I fired her up, and the system booted flawlessly into my beautiful desktop wallpaper and all I had to do was increase the resulotion to my normal 1280X1024. Sweet all is good now. This PSU is awesome. I have the 6800GT, 5 Fans, 5 HD's and 2 Opticals plus three drive coolers and the things is not even whimpering. PC Power & Cooling is the bomb. I am glad I made this investment. If I go SLI in the future I am more than ready. Most reccommended PSU company, the workmanship is excellent.
