I got a new case for my system and transferred all the parts today. Now when I push the power button, everything starts up like normal then immediately dies. I think Ive had this problem in the past but dont remember how I fixed it. Any ideas?

Sounds like a grounding issue to me, are you sure that there arent any extra standoffs under the board where they arent needed?

Im going to check right now. Could it be a grounding issue with the heatsink fan? I think I had that problem with this board a long time ago.

I had the same thing recently. Got the PSU checked and the 5v rail was dead. Take it to compusa or somewhere and get the PSU tested.

Another good suggestion, but usually when the 4 pin isnt connected the machine will not power at all, at least in my experience

When I forgot to attach the 4-pin cable on a recent C2D system, the power and fans came on for half a second, and then everything turned off.
