System not Posting?

Hey everyone,

SPecs are as follows:

Asus A7n8X(not deluxe, -x, or any of tha tother crap)
Barton 2500+
2 x 512 PC3200 Corsair XMS
Radeon 9600 Pro
80GB WD SPecial edition
Sparkle Power 350 W PSU

Problem is that at first the system would simply not post. After removing the 9600Pro and replacing it w/ the 9700 Pro from my main machine (this rig is NOT for me) and still nothing happened i replaced the 9600 pro and now it Posts but it emits a long alternating beep.

It goes something along the lines of Beep stop Beep stop Beep stop

It's not the ram so i'm leading to belive its the radeon..yet it dind't work w/ the 9700 [pro in the system...

Anyone have any ideas / have had this issue w/ the asus mobo in the past..Thanks

Hope you have the xternal power on?

yes...its booting up and beeping...removed the video card, tried 1 stick of ram then the other, still no go..ideas?

would clearing the cmos perhaps fix this?

check the mobo/bios beep codes

Based on the beep codes and checking online...Apparently its the ram...but it's good ram and i've reseated it, tried it in different slots and everything...any more ideas?

test ram in your rig if possible..clear the cmos..I know this'll sound strange but take your vid card and the ram and with regular black/white newsprint rub the contacts area ..yes..very strange but every so often that does work..gl

Going to try clearing the cmos shortly. i will keep you all posted. And the ram IS working. The video card is irrelevant as i swapped it with my 9700 Pro and it didn't work.
