New system all worked out EXCEPT...

I?m looking at 1GB of OCZ PC4000 Gold or the OZC PC3500 Copper. I?m most likely not going to overclock the system right now.

Running stock will the GOLD give me any performance boost?

Mainboard and CPU = 3.2C on a ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe.

Appreciate the advice ? Thanks, Clayman

if your not going to overclock then its pretty much a waste of $$ to get the pc4000 gold

**edit**
gotta love how daylight savings time changes screw up the order of the posts :D

Thanks Boonesmi,

I agree. Then what would be the best to guarantee the fastest speed and bandwidth in a stock configuration? I'm open to anything that is compatible.

Not knowing a lot about DDR memory my confusion lies in whether 4000 is faster than 3700 or 3700 than 3500 ... and so on?

Oh, and your right about the Daylight Savings twist ... the flightsim forums I frequent are all screwed up.

pc3200 stock is run at 200mhz fsb (which will will be the stock fsb for that cpu)

but pc3200 may or maynot be able to run 200mhz with aggressive timing settings, but personally if i wasnt planning to overclock i would just buy some buffalo tech pc3200 for around $80 shipped (thats 512mb, pc3200, unbuffered, non-parity)

it will save some $$ and the system will perform as well as if you bought the more expensive stuff
