Staples B&M stores are clearancing out System Mechanic 6 and System Mechanic 6 Professional.

Don't have SKU's , but System Mechanic 6 is $9.90 and System Mechanic 6 Professional is $14.90

System Mechanic 6 has a $20 upgrader MIR (make $10 after upgrader MIR)

and

System Mechanic 6 Professional has a $30 upgrader MIR (make $15 after upgrader MIR)


Upgrader rebate is valid "only to previous owners of the following retail boxed software products (excluding pre-loaded, downloaded, and OEM software): Norton SystemWorks, Norton Utilities, System Suite, and Fix-It Utilities. Owners of stand-alone retail versions of any iolo technologies software products are also eligible."

Proof of previous ownership requirements: "Previous owners must enclose either the previous product's original CD, diskette 1, title page of manual or UPC from product box."

Rebate expires 3/31/07 and is the sticker on the front of product box.

Don't forget that you can get a free upgrade to System Mechanic 7 from Iolo, since you purchased version 6 after 7 was released. I did it and still made $15 after rebate

Judging by the customer reviews @ Amazon, this product doth sucketh over-much. It earned 1 star (of 5) from 22 of 24 reviews, and some wrote of their disappointment that it couldn't be rated worse. Seems they didn't appreciate the damage done to their systems, and the problems in uninstalling it. No sense of humor, I guess.

The product actually does suck. Even version 7. I unstalled it almost immediately after installing it. It conflicted with my firewall and my virus scanner (I did NOT install the Iolo firewall and virus scanner).

They still paid me $15 to take it, which I can't complain about.
