System lockups during loading levels on L4D2 only

Have a Core i7 920, 6 gb ram, 2x 8800GT's in SLI, and a 74 gb Raptor. All installed on Windows 7, and have not had any stability issues with any other games. I can have Crysis, Farcry 2, or any other game open for as long as I want. I've left the game open overnight, and come back and started playing the next morning with no issues.

For some reason though, on L4D 2 (not L4D 1 though), when the system loads a stage it will lock up sometimes. Usually it's after the system has been on for a bit, but temps are fine (Core ranges in temp, but generally stays under 70C under load). Case temp is 50C or so on average.

Any ideas?

Check the Read Me file for the game and see if there are any known issues. Then try reinstalling the game.

My brother's system had the same problem. Turns out the game was installed over a bad sector i guess. Replaced the hd, fresh install, no problems.
