So far Windows XP has proven to be a very stable OS..in 1 month I have had 2 lock-ups and one of those was probably from a different program.
But every time I boot up XP I get the little grey box that says 'System has recovered from a serious error' how can I disable this dang thing?

I had this happen to me for 2 days and it finally went away anyway to disable it go into control panel then system properties and click on advanced tab and select the error reporting button on the bottom and make sure you click disable error reporting even critical errors.

You might find if you disable error reporting for a few days then renable it the problem as gone away it did for me.
