I just moved my HD with Windows XP installed over to a new MB. Will not boot up, hangs on a file called mup.sys during the boot process. I cannot get this to boot correctly... help!

Have you tried booting in safemode ?

Hit F8 when it starts to boot into windows.

Your always going to take a gamble when you change motherboards using the same OS installed on same hard drive.

Ideally you should have backed all your data up first before switching your mobo over , and then remove all your hardware in the device manager and then swap the mobo and boot letting XP redetect your hard ware and install the newer mobo .

The proper way would be to reformat and start from scratch as the above method is still not failsafe but I have done this a few times and got it to work fine .
