I've got...
Iwill KK266R+
T-bird 1.2
40GB IBM's RAID 0
Windows 98SE
Using the onboard sound

It was running fine. I relized that my USB wasn't enabled. So I went into the BIOS and enabled it, loaded the USB drivers off the Iwll setup disk.
I plugged in my Logitech WM 3D joystick, ran the setup for it. It requires a reboot to finish setup. It just hung and would finish the setup. I hit the restart button to reboot. When Windows loaded the Windows startup wav hung as did the whole thing. No keyboard or mouse control.

* I've disabled the USB in the BIOS.
* I tried to boot from my Windows floppy to go into safe mode to remove the joystick drivers.
I hit F5 for Safe Mode, but it just goes to an A: prompt :Q

Is there another way to enter Safe Mode besides from the floppy disk? I've tried CD-ROM boot, but it doesn't recognize any other drives.

Help Please :)

[Edit] I've tried all the methods mentioned at the "How to Start a Windows-Based Computer in Safe Mode" page, but still just get an A: prompt.

I just hold down or repeatedly click on F8 while the computer is booting. No floppy required.

I was able to get into Safe Mode by F8. I did it by selecting "3" and hitting enter, instead of scrolling down to "3".

I've removed all USB items in my device manager but it still hangs on me at the same point.

Basically it was the "Safe Mode" cleanup from the USB Man page.
I also found out that on the KK266R+ the USB shares an IRQ with the RAID. Am I just stuck, if I want to keep using RAID? I can buy a PCI USB card, no problem.
But my system still hangs. I don't know what to do besides going into the BIOS to disable the USB.
Any suggestions?

I'm beginning to see why people like the AMD chipsets better than VIA :)

Do you have the latest bios for your board? It seems that this must be a problem with the board and there must be some kind of bios patch for it at the manufacturers website.

This is one for the books!

I go into safe mode (since it's all I can access), to remove the Logitech program in Add/Remove Programs. I click on the Logitech program and it asked me if I was sure I wanted to remove "Calypso 3". Calypso is my e-mail client program. I click No, figuring the programs were being reported wrong in safe mode.
Out of curiosity I clicked to remove 3D Mark 2001 and it asked me if I was sure I wanted to remove "Calypso 3". So I start thinking... hmmm. I removed the real Calypso and rebooted. Windows loaded up everything seems fine :Q

Does anyone know how my USB, Logitech joystick and Calypso are connected? Windows 98? VIA chipset?
