System hangs - Ideas?

I have an Abit KT7 w/ latest Via 4in1 drivers. It sits on an UPS, but last night after some storms moved through (with system powered on) it began to act strangely. At power on or reset, it posts the processor speed and then hangs. It won't scan memory, won't let me into BIOS, it just locks. Repeated resets will eventually result in memory scan, whereupon I can access BIOS or let it proceed to boot. So far I have:

CLeared CMOS
Tried to post at processor default speed
Updated BIOS to ZT
Bumped core Volts to 1.85 (was 1.825)

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Nothing has been changed in days, system has been rock stable for months!
Haven't had trouble, then all of a sudden...
Thanks in advance for any ideas
