When the system starts up it gets to the Windows ME splash screen and says "Please wait while Setup updates your configuration files. This may take a few minutes........." I don't have a clue what's causing this and it's an intermittent problem, I haven't had any prorams updated just before this happened, it just kinda came out of the blue. If anyone has any clue where I can get this from trying run this process it would be helpful. I can startup in safe mode and disabling all of the start-up options in msconfig doesn't seem to work.
